Constant flow delivery across regional water network
The need
Yorkshire Water provides clean water and sanitation for over 5 million people every day.
Pressure and flow failures in the network have a huge impact on its customers and absorb significant resources to respond to and manage.
In order to prevent these failures due to excessive water draw, the Yorkshire Water required a pre-set constant flow valve to limit the flow to certain large volume users.
The solution
The customer’s specific requirement was for a flow rate of 6 litres/sec in a DN80 pipe.
Akro manufactured and supplied a 3″ wafer type Stainless Steel flow control valve that could be flange-mounted into the customer’s supply main.
